Lower Hutt Central
Fire Station

Roof Renovation

THE BRIEF

Completed in 1955, the (Former) Lower Hutt Central Fire Station is of outstanding architectural value as an authentic and intact example of Post-War Modern architecture in a city that was a ‘flagship’ for Post-War Modernism.

With the installation of new Monier Hacienda concrete tiles (colour, Hapuka), this project aimed to preserve the building’s external original charm and heritage while incorporating modern specifications, and impeccable craftmanship.
